Wang Feng became the first Chinese to win the World Memory Championships on Sunday, beating British and German heavyweights. Wang is a student from Wuhan University.
He won the championships after two days of intense competition between 128 finalists from more than 20 countries in the city of Guangzhou.
Wang clinched the title in the final of ten rounds by memorizing a pack of 52 playing cards in 24 seconds.
He qualified for a place in the Guinness Book of Records and the Book of Mental World Records as a result of his win.
German national champion Johannes Mallow took the silver medal.
British contestant Ben Pridmore of Beeston took the bronze medal by memorizing 28 individual shuffled packs of playing cards within the time limit of one hour.
The World Memory Championships were founded in 1991.
